My name is Erin Sparks and I am so excited to be starting the 2013-14 school year with you! Let me share a little information about me. I have been teaching since 2011. I did my student teaching at Silver Lake Elementary School in 4th grade, taught 7th grade Math and Social Studies in 2011, and 5th grade last year at Cold Springs Middle School. I am currently working on completing my Masters Degree through Sierra Nevada College. My hobbies include: hiking with my three dogs, snowshoeing, running, swimming, horseback riding, and of course reading a great book! I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you better! |
Check out www.spellingcity.com at home!
Students have access to their spelling lists on this site. They can play games and do extra activities to study their spelling words, and even take a practice test! On Fridays, students will take their spelling test using this website. Reminder Homework Club will be cancelled the following dates due to student-led conferences:
Box Tops for Education
Thank you to those families who have already sent these in. Please click on the file below to print extra copies to allow your child to collect these at home. Please tape or glue the box tops to the paper. Once your child has filled the paper with box tops, have them bring it to school. Remember, I will give 5 PAWS for every 10 Box Tops brought to school. Thank you for your support on this. It is a great way to earn money for the classroom!
Weekly Behavior Folder
A weekly behavior folder will be sent home every Friday. The folder will contain all graded work from the week before, reminders, informational flyers, and your child's behavior and work ethic grade for the week. This must be signed each week by a parent or guardian and returned to school on Monday. Students can earn PAWS or a treat if this is returned on time! Welcome Packet/Supply List
This informational packet will be sent home the first day of school. Please review this with your child to ensure you both understand the expectations of the school year. Some of the packet needs to be filled out and returned to school. Please get this turned in no later than Monday, August 19th.
